Juice News
When I decided to "do it myself" and sent out the first newsletter to 22 recipients, I had no idea what I was getting into. But it was the start of something special.
0 to 1: Copy / Paste
In internet years, it feels like a century ago.
The "tech" that was involved with the first editions of Juice News was... well, not much. It was just a newsletter. I had been playing around with MailChimp, and saw that it would serve the purpose I had in mind.
In a classical reaching out to friends and family, I had gathered 22 people on my list and on the morning of November 7, 2014, I opened my Google Reader, and a couple of my go-to websites to scout for the best "juice news" of the day. I then copied and pasted the links into the simple MailChimp template I had created.
Something alike – yet optimized – I would be doing for the next 10 years... and still am.
